HOWTO: Airport Extreme ‘n’ e Linux : Print via Airport
Se in OSX e Windows è facile stampare via Airport utilizzando il servizio Bonjour, there is more than one problem in Ubuntu.
The Apple Bonjour analog is zeroconf / avahi, and there is no self-configuring utility…
First we have to check the situation of the doors at the Airport, typing, terminal:
nmap 10.0.0.1
in my case, holder 9100, 9101 and so on, that are used for the printer, were closed.
There is no way to open the doors from the Airport Utility for OSX, Unfortunately…
However, If in OSX and Windows it is easy to print away, will install a graphical front-end for avahi, which automatically identify your Airport and the printer…
This will automatically open the necessary ports in the Airport Extreme:
IF NOT USED Avahi DISCOVERY, AIRPORT DO NOT open the door !!!!
At this point, open the CUPS print server (localhost:631) and add a printer.
In the print mode, automatically appear something like 10.0.0.1 HP Laserjet 1022. Select this type of printer, and the necessary driver as in figure
Print a test page, And here!
