Mouse Logitech MX620 : finally arrived
After the death (premature ?) del mouse Microsoft Optical Wireless Mouse 2.0 after 5 age, I went looking for a cordless mouse, but this time no more optical laser.
The choice is now restricted, saw that Logitech is almost undisputed leader in the world of mouse, and in particular I had spotted the Logitech G7, which unfortunately has been discontinued, is not used, new and has some crazy prices!
Since it was not necessary to spend 50 and more euro for a mouse, I saw that maybe the Logitech MX620 could do to my case…
– laser technology
 – LED battery charge / discharge
 – possibility to turn it off (argh I'd had enough after 5 years to see that red light ALWAYS on)
 – small usb receiver
 – configurable keys
 – scroll wheel to scroll horizontally or functionality of third mouse button
Luckily I had a chance to buy it back at 30EUR, and I must say it works great.
The stated life is one year… definitely will be slightly lower but still great, seen that the rechargeable batteries I used, already used, indicate a remaining range of 180 days.
By software Logitech Set Point you can set the buttons depending on the program, for example I set iTunes to play / pause by pressing the scroll wheel.
There is also an additional button to search for highlighted text with google, and two buttons for forward / backward in web browsing (comfortable).
In short, mouse highly recommended and very convenient, view the ergonomic shape.
Update 7 June 2009: I tried to connect the mouse to my Apple iBook with Tiger, and works perfectly. I have not done is connect the USB key.
