2 days in Manchester: what to see in the city of Red Devils?
They doctor Manchester, come immediately to mind the two (well, Until a few years ago was a) strong football teams, lo United ed il City, or the band of Oasis.
Unlikely, however, capita di really visit the city… Indeed, it is the “capital” of Industrial Revolution, process that, from the end of the '700, made the British Empire the colonial power of the eighteenth and nineteenth century known to all. and, in history of that period, in Nord Ovest dell'Inghilterra, not ne mancano.
Many factories dell'epoca, mainly in the textile industry, have been recovered in recent decades, and converted into museums, luxury loft, and local. The risk, in fact, was to leave a large area, once industrialized, in a receptacle of degradation (which, for example, has happened in Naples, sia ad Est, that in Bagnoli).
In an old factory was inaugurated the beautiful MOSI, Museum of Science and Industry, museum (totally free) dedicated to the progress made by science from the industrial revolution to the '900, with a focus on the frames and steam engines. A jewel that, in smaller, can be (the, better, you could) admire the Science City of Naples.
For football fans, it is possible visit the mythical Old Trafford, the stadium of Manchester United, booking tickets on the official website. I preferred to visit the Anfield Road in Liverpool, but that's another story. 🙂
In the city you can move easily with the Metrolink (metrotranvia) ed i bus. There are some buses, called Metroshuttle, that are Free, and touch on all the sites of interest. in general, if you spend only two days in Manchester, it is enough to single tickets, because you take public transportation rarely.
I leave you a video I shot to excange Street, in the shopping district of Manchester:
