2 days in Warsaw: what to see in the capital of Poland?

warsaw: guide to the Polish city

To be honest, some time ago never, ever would have imagined visit a city like Warsaw!

in fact, Poland and its capital, relatively little is known in terms of tourism.
The recent entry into the European Union is giving a I forte boost tourism (and not only) and, although Warsaw does not have to offer a cultural heritage such as Krakow, my visit has been a’interesting experience.

Did you know that Warsaw is the city where he was born Frederik Chopin? You also, come me, you thought it was French? Here, nothing more wrong. 🙂

Not only in this city has grown and is formed, but the city airport bears his name, and in the center there is an interesting museum (Fryderyk Chopin Museum), allowing you to go over the whole life of the famous musician. Time has flown and, without even visit it thoroughly, I spent about the museum 3 hours! …Read the rest »

4 days between Krakow, Auschwitz and the mines of Wieliczka

Camminando verso Main Square, the central square of Krakow

If you ask me “what is the city that most surprised you, of which you know less and more've visited with distrust”, answer without doubt Krakow!

It Prague, I visited in 2003, and Budapest visitatata in Christmas 2014, are now “fashionable” in Italian, we know very little of the other cities that make up the triptych of the three jewels of Central Europe, or Krakow, Poland's second city.

So, after deciding you want to plant a flag in Poland, I wondered: “what to visit in Krakow and surroundings?

Fortuitously, IL Old Town (UNESCO heritage, like that of Naples) escaped to bombing Nazis, and arrived to our days in very good condition. …Read the rest »

3 days in Vienna: what to see absolutely?

Schoenbrunn Palace, home of Princess Sissi.

the capital the old Austro-Hungarian Empire, whose citizens show a slight melancholy for a greatness now far, showed me, quest’ultima estate, its best side: What's better than long days, good weather, and two imperial palaces (Schönbrunn and Hofburg) .. visit?

some, there is no longer the unfortunate and unhappy Princess Sissi who wanders the halls (those rare times that lived in Vienna and was not traveling for the empire), and it is forbidden to make any photograph inside the two imperial palaces, but I assure you a visit to Vienna is a must, especially to visit the Hofburg and Schönbrunn, but not only! Elegant streets, the beautiful Kunsthistorisches Museum, containing the Habsburg collections, not to mention the St. Stephen's Cathedral, the cathedral from the bell tower Mozart became aware of being deaf. …Read the rest »

1 day in Salzburg:What to see in the city of Mozart

Itinerary in Salzburg

It, as I did, you decided to go by Bavaria to Vienna, following the course of Danube, you may have noticed that, right on the road that goes from Monaco to Austria, shortly after the German-Austrian border, lies the city of Salzburg.

In short, I uploaded the photo just above, speaks volumes: regardless of churches the famous houses, IL Alpine panorama is splendid, and alone is worth a visit in the second Austrian city!

Long story… Long, is the city that gave birth to no other than Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who here has worked as a composer, the orders of Archbishops who governed the city. Also, The city center is a splendid example of Baroque architecture, with Cathedral, la residence (IL “palace of power” Archbishops), the narrow streets overlooked by palaces and shops with wrought iron signs. …Read the rest »

4 days in Monaco of Bavaria, Füssen and surroundings: WHAT TO SEE?

View towards Marienplatz, Monaco

The austere and elegant Bavarian metropolis Has, according to different rankings (with Vienna, Vancouver, Melbourne, Sydney), the better quality of life to the world. In fact, it is one thing to realize immediately all tourists… both green, public transport flawless, many cultural events, urban landscaped, not to mention a thriving economy: all factors that explain why, some of these tourists (Italian species), a po’ necessity, a po’ to taste, then decides to go live in those parts. 🙂

The Bavarians are very proud of their history, their traditions, almost as if they were still living in the Kingdom of Bavaria, and did not hesitate to point it out to “strangers”: often I saw old men dressed in traditional bavarian clothing, not to mention the abundance of taverns, (German, cellars) when listening to music and eat Bavarian sauerkraut (argh, not for me!), boiled potatoes, and pork shank. …Read the rest »
