One of my favorite things when I travel, is to take advantage of the opportunity to "mingle" with the residents, do what they do, and maybe take my curiosity to participate in cultural events and activities, at first sight, would escape to a tourist.

but, worship as a tourist, I hate to be the "classic tourist", if you know what I mean. Every time I visit somewhere unknown, I try to make up its mind on the habits of the residents, and try to adapt to these as possible. Not respecting the habits of the place that you host, can make your partner feel offended or, in some cases, even insulted, can create for ourselves embarrassment, or even worse. Christmas markets in Berlin - Gendarmenmarkt

The air is crisp, the streets are festooned, the smoke of mulled wine fills the air: and Christmas!

Although our beautiful city for 12 mesi anno, Unfortunately, to cultural issues, not have the characteristic Christmas markets which can be found in German-speaking countries (o anglosassoni).

What better opportunity to make a visit of just over 3 days in Berlin, capital of Germany?

The flights of Schoenefeld (the former East Berlin airport, presidiato easyJet and Ryanair) and Tegel (AirBerlin and flag carriers) that do not cost a few tens of Euros, and depart from, practically, all of Italy.

Half day in Frankfurt

Visit Dublin and Ireland

Green Ireland, made of legends, Music, alcohol, ancient stories is a little more than two hours flight from Italy: and, after seeing her once, you'll want to go back right now!

I spent 5 days in Ireland, visiting both the capital, Dublin, both the Atlantic coast (Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin and other wonders of the’Ireland dell'Ovest), sia le tombe celtiche North of Dublin (Newgrange, Hill of Tara, and the surrounding area), and I must say it would have served at least some other, to see more of the South West and the Giant's Causeway (Nord Irlanda).

Visit the city of Liverpool

Liverpool, I think, is the “younger sister” Manchester: Both are daughters of the Industrial Revolution, Both have used the waterways to thrive, both have football teams from international blazon, both have given birth to famous bands, and are separated by only a few tens of kilometers (hum, miles).

particularly, Liverpool is the home town of the legendary Fab Four, i Beatles, born into a very prosperous period for the city's music scene English (that of the so-called Mersey beat).

and, just to the Beatles, is dedicated to a beautiful place to museum’Albert Dock, in the port area, IL Beatles Story. Not only, a few steps away you will find the interesting museums (all free) of slavery (International Slavery Museum), the mare (Merseyside Maritime Museum in which is also located memorabilia Titanic), the Tate (section of Liverpool) Gallery, the new Museum of Liverpool. …Read the rest »
